Prime Meridian
The Prime Meridian is an imaginary line running from the North Pole to the South Pole, passing through Greenwich, London. The Prime Meridian serves as the basis for Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), from which all other time zones are calculated. This system replaced Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) as the world's time standard in 1972.
