Description The national flag of Kyrgyzstan consists of a red field with a stylized yellow 40-ray sun-disk in the center. Inside the sun-disk is a depiction of a tunduk - stylized view of the roof of the traditional Kyrgyz home, the yurt
Symbolism The red banner of the flag symbolizes the freedom that the Kyrgyz people have defended in their long history. Besides, the flag of Manas was red. The sun means light, openness, and resilience. Like tongues of flame, the forty rays are forty tribes reunited into a people. Tunduk is a sign of the hearth, which connects heaven and earth, and symbolizes the unity of all nationalities living in the country.
